Creating a Website in WIX PART I - homepage

In today's lesson we have started creating our own website using WIX.

1. I started creating my page by choosing the right for my study path format. I have chosen the 'Wedding Photography' theme, because the layout of the page is very clean and minimalistic.

2. After choosing the website format I have changed the background photo for one of my own. I do not have all of my photos with me in Leicester right now. Most of them are on hard drives in my hometown, but in the future days I will try to get them via cloud. I have chosen this photo because I have shot it right in the beginning my adventure with long exposure photography, and after all this time it is still one of my favourite photos I have ever taken. I have used the 'Change Strip Background' option and then I have clicked on 'Image' I have changed the orientation of the photo to better fit the layout of the page.

3. Then I started editing the header. I started with designing the layout of my name and my specialisation. I have changed the font for the one called 'Anton'. I like the simplicity of this font and it correlates with the minimalistic style this page is in.

4. I have changed the orientation of this text and moved it to header and grouped.

5. Then I started editing the subpage menu in the header. I changed the font to 'Anton' and changed the colour of 'Hover' and 'Clicked' option to neon blue.

6. I dropped the opacity of the header to 40% and changed the 'Header Scroll Settings' to 'disappear'.

7. Lastly I have deleted the unnecessary subpages.

I will be updating this website in the following weeks.
