Major Project - Planning and Sketches

 I have a plan to make six photographs for the Major Project.

I have come up with six scenes which I will photograph on different locations. The said scenes are:

1. Falling asleep while writing an essay,
2. Bringing back the groceries,
3. Making laundry,
4. Washing the dishes,
5. Running for a bus,
6. Being lost in the city.

I more detail, the photos will look like this:

1. Falling asleep while writing an essay



This photo will be a blend between photo of a keyboard, brightly lit by the screen, and a seperate photo of me curled up and sleeping on the keyboard. I will compose these two images in the photoshop.
I will use bright, white LED lights in order to replicate the light coming from the computer screen.

2. Bringing back the groceries



The base layer will be the normal size bag of groceries laid on its side, on the street. I will compose myself sized down, so it will look like I am struggling to pull it. I will shoot it in natural light. Both pictures on the same day in the same location in order to create the same light conditions.

3. Making Laundry



I will blend myself into a pile of laundry, so it will look like I am being crushed under the weight of it. I will direct top down light in order to create a soft scenery without many shadows. 

4. Washing the dishes



In this photograph I will shot a base layer, which will be a scene with a lot of dishes and a sponge. I will compose myself via photoshop, so it will look like I am trying to pick up the sponge. Similarly to the previous photo, the lighting will be from the top in order to create a soft scene.

5. Running for a bus




The scale is not the best in this sketch, in the final piece I will be much smaller. I will shot a base layer of a bus departing from the bus stop, and merge it with the photo of myself shot in the same location and the same natural lighting. 

6. Being lost in the city



This photo will be a composition of a photo of a map laying on the street and downsized me standing on it. Both photos will be shot outside in natural light.


This is the basic idea of how my photos will look like. Now I will spent time on researching previously mentioned artists in order to create the best results I can.

Sequential Photography - research, study, and final artwork

You could say that the origin of sequential photography, as important by itself, is also the origin of cinema. Not the Lumière brothers, but Eadweard Muybridge can be recognized as a pioneer of film. Edweard Muybridge was an English photographer. His fame started when in 1868 Eadweard photographed Yosemite Valley in California, but today he is famous for initiating a new photography trend which is our today's topic. Sequential Photography 1 Sequential imagery is a photographic technique of taking many following pictures in a short period of time. It can be used for a variety of reasons, ranging from showing movement of someone or something to telling a compelling story. An actual origin story of the pictures above is interesting in itself. Major Project TERM III - Production and Post-production PART I

As of now I completed three days of shooting, and shot around 30%-35% of the needed footage. It takes more time than I anticipated but I think I will finish everything on time. I cannot really shoot outside during the weekend since there is a lot of people on the streets at night during these days, so I have to go out during the weekdays. It slows the production a bit since now I have most of the interior shots done, so the only things I need to shoot are outside. I also understood quickly that making everything by myself is far more difficult and complicated than I anticipated. There are some shots which I imagined in my mind that are not looking as good when I shoot it. Nevertheless, focusing on the positive I have finished shooting and editing first page of the script.
