Biteable practise - Creating a Job seeker video

Today we will be creating a video which main task will be attracting employers to our brand.

I want to be a freelance photographer in the future therefore I did an advert for people that might want to employ me as a photographer for their event.

1. I chose the format called Jobseeker, and started with editing the photo and the name. I also changed the font to 'Oswald' because I liked the simple design of it.

2. Then I changed the background for the second slide to a top down photo of camera gear on a wood. I liked the wood theme in this shot so I continued it in the rest of the slides. I putted the captions on the left hand side so they would fit in better.

3. Then I changed the colour palette for the count down and applied it to the rest of it, including the first slide.

4. Then I started editing the first reason. I changed the background photo to a man editing a photo on his laptop. It was important for me that the photos I chose had some greeny, woody elements in it, so they matched the aesthetic I had in mind. Then I added a very transparent and barely visible background to the captions so they were easier to read. I am a slowreader, therefore I am a good determinant of how much text can be on one slide - If I can read it in the time given, almost everyone can.

5. I repeated the same steps in the rest of the reasons, keeping in mind the aesthetic I chose.

6. In the last slide I added the background photo of a woman in some green scenery calling on her phone. I added my mail and a link to my blog and  relocated the captions to the left side so they fit better in this composition.

7. Last thing to do was choosing the music for my advert. I chose the 'Funky Oak' tune. I chose not only because of the thematic title, I also felt that slower, and less happy music was more suitable.

The final advert can be viewed on YouTube.

  1. Great video and process here - would be great to send to employers - a couple of spelling mistakes that need fixing but otherwise very professional - well done
