Major Project - Further ideas development (Planning and sketches PART II)

After a longer consideration I decided that a few of the photos I was going to take are not really fitting the theme I have chosen, and some of them were not exactly photogenic. Therefore I decided to change them for a photos that not only were fitting better with the theme of being overwhelmed with tasks, assignments and independence but also were closer to my field of study.

From the previous list of sketches from which I would create final photographs I left:
1. Falling asleep while writing an essay,
2. Bringing back the groceries,
3. Making laundry.

And in place of the rest of the sketches I placed these:

THE CUT

The sketches about cleaning the dishes was rejected because I do not think that dirty dishes are something I want to photograph. Instead of that I decided to make a sketch about making a piece of artwork from paper. Below you can view the sketch of it.

In this photo I will compose myself hanging from a piece of paper that is placed on a blade of craft knife. I want to back lit it using LEDs in order to create a hard backlight. I think it would give the photo a bit if an industrial feel of a factory with sparks flying everywhere.

THE SCULPTURE

Instead of the running for a bus photo, which in COVID times is not really relatable to many people, I decided to replace it with a photo of creating a sculpture for art classes, which is more relatable to my studies.

In this photo I will compose myself into a scene of creating a sculpture. I will be holding a grand brush or a sculpting tool and try to sculpt. For this photo I will try to use only natural, soft light from my window to make soft shadows.

THE CAMERA

The last sketch that I decided to replace was the being lost in the city and looking at map one. I did not feel like it had any meaning behind it and using an actual map instead of the google or GPS is not exactly a relatable thing among my age group. Instead I decided to make a photo of me sitting on the camera. It will be the last photo in the sequence which will have as a purpose to show that there is peace in all of this overwhelming independent life.

In this photo I will compose myself onto a camera sitting. I want to find an outside place with a hard light so it would look like I am shined by the sun.

These, with the three other sketches that can be viewed in the previous post, are the final ones and based on them I will create my final artworks.
