Group Project - Idea development, production and editing part I

This week we were doing quick projects in two person groups. My partner was my blog buddy from last term - Aga Ward.

After quick evaluation of our skills, photography and digital design, we decided on creating a series of photograph collages by mixing street photography with photo compositing. In this project I was in charge of shooting actual pictures and colour correcting them, Aga, however, was in charge of further photo manipulation.

We talked a few ideas, after which we decided on creating a series of photo edits called 'Stars reincarnated'. This project was supposed to show famous late singers in bodies of everyday people. The photographs would visualise the moment of in which past life is visible on in a new flesh.

Below you can view my part of this project - photo session and colour correcting selected pictures.

During this quick session I captures around 50 photographs.

Contact sheet:

These are the photos I picked for editing.

All of the people's faces have been covered in order to avoid validation of any rights.

Below you can watch entire editing process of this photos with my commentary.

And below you can see six final photographs.

While some of these photographs could be better, I really like the first, landscape photograph. I love the rich colours of the fruits and vegetables and the analog like atmosphere of this photo.

This was my part of the project, now I will send all of these edited photos to Aga, so she can choose four photos which she will transform into the final artworks. The second part of the editing process can be viewed on Aga's blog.
