What do I know about Photography and Video - Quick evaluation
In this post I will answer some question which will help me identify how much I actually know about Photography and Video.
1. What should I be doing in my subject area?
Most importantly, make photos and shoot videos. But besides the obvious, edit images and films, know all of the parts of the camera and what each thing do. Learn vocabulary connected to these things, know how to do research and find inspirations. Develop my own visual style and form, so I can be at least somewhat different from other artists.
2. What skills and knowledge do I need for my subject area?
Know how to use camera properly, know how to expose photos properly, know how to use filters on camera. Know photoshop and lightroom, and video editing programmes. Know how to guide models, use composition and how to find best angles for the photos. Know aspect ratios, F stops, names of different camera movements and how to frame them, how to light the scene and how to use shadows.
3. What jobs can I get by studying this subject?
Freelance photographer or cinematographer, photo editor, online creator, magazine photographer, camera operator, DP, landscape photographer, baby photographer, and many more kinds of photographers. You could work at the modeling agency as a model photographer, or portrait photographer. There are too many kinds of photographers and cinematographers to write about all of them.
4. If I scored myself out of ten, with ten being the highest, how well do I think I know my own subject area?
Six. Over the years I learned that the more I learn about photography and cinematography the less I think I know. It is a never ending cycle of learning new things and getting to know new techniques. In a few months I will probably change my opinion and rate my knowledge to five.

Good understanding and knowledge - well done
