The End of the Second Term - Reflections
During this term I decided to redirect my focus compared to the previous term. While previous term I spent much more time actually creating the final artwork this time I wanted to use my time for more in depth research into another artists. Of course I wanted to do that without sacrificing the quality of my own artworks which was demanding, however I think that I managed to do that.
While my research last term felt for me well crafted at the time, looking now back at it I feel that I have grown a lot since then. This term I have put much more thought into what I am researching and how. My research had more connections to my final pieces in every way and it was much more detailed.
About my artworks I already wrote a lot in my reflections under my final pieces, so I will not be repeating myself to much. In short, however, I am proud of the quality of my final photographs I think that they are strong in their message and as an experimental collection the can shock and make you question some things after seeing it. It was difficult to shoot in black and white since this type of photography has their own laws which are different to the colour photography. However I believe that I did a good job capturing emotions, textures and skin tones in these photographs.
Overall, I think that this term I managed to more balance my work in terms of preparation, idea generation, research and actual creation. I spent a lot more time on the first three while maintaining high standard of my final artworks. A few times I was a little behind my schedule I set for myself in the beginning but it was only because I wanted to make sure that what I am creating is the best that I can do. Without compromises or unfinished parts.
