UX Testing - Looking at Peer's Websites

Today we looked at each others websites and did a UX Testing questionnaire in order to help find problems with them. I was looking at the Maria Lotoszyńska's website.

Homepage:

1. Is the homepage pleasing to look at?
It is but I am confused about more than one logo? There is both full name and Maria/e, I would use only one because it looks busy.

2. Does the homepage clearly show both visually and with text what the website is about (i.e represent the students progression route?)?
Yes, the first thing we see is one of Maria's sketch and a subtitle 'Fashion Design'.

3. Is there a navigation menu on the homepage?
Yes, there is.

4. Is the navigation menu clear and easy to use?
Yes, it is clear, and easy to use, however I would delete the lines in between buttons, since they are often covering images and text on the website.

5.  Are there social media links on the homepage?
Yes, there is a Blogger link at the bottom of the page.

6. Do all the menu links and social links work correctly?
Somewhat, the link works only when I click on specific part of this rectangle button, maybe it is only my problem.

7. Do you have any comments or suggestions in regard to the homepage?
The copyright is still from last year and I would change the 'Look at my work :)' button to 'Portfolio' or something like that.

The About & Contact Page:

1. Is the About page pleasing to look at?
Yes, but the logo is sometimes covering text.

2. Does it contain an image or design?
Yes, it does.

3. Is the about me/biography well written?
Yes, but it is quite brief.

4. Does the about me/biography really tell you about the person and their work?
It does about the person, but I would add a little more about the work itself.

5. Do you have any suggestions on the about me page?
Besides making it a little longer, there is a weird long empty space under the bio on this page.

6. Is the contact page pleasing to look at?
Yes, but it is difficult to see menu with this background image.

7. Does it contain an image or design?
Yes, it does.

8. Does the contact page work - test this and find out
It does.

9. Do you have any suggestions about the contact page?
I would either change the background or the colour of the menu so it doesn't blend with each other.

The Gallery pages:

1. Do all the gallery pages work?
Yes.

2. Is there an introduction to the work on each gallery page?
No, there is only an introduction to the major project

3. Does all the work have titles?
Yes.

4. Are the gallery pages consistent?
Yes.

5. Do the gallery pages work well and are they easy to use?
Yes.

6. Can you go back and forth through the gallery pages easily?
There is no button to go back to the main page of the gallery.

7. Is the work displayed to show it at its best?
I wouldn't include photography since it is not connected to the Maria's continuation route.

8. What suggestions do you have about the gallery pages?
In major project logo is covering the introduction.

The Whole Site:

1. Is the site consistent throughout?
Yes.

2. Did you find it easy to navigate and use?
Yes.

3. Was it a good experience going through the site?
Yes, mostly. Except for a few places where the text is covered by something else.

4. What would you change if you could?
Nothing really except for the minor problems I mentioned above.

5. Would you recommend this site to others? If not, why not?
Yes.
