Major Project TERM III - first thoughts

After hearing all three options for themes of this term's major project, which are 'Oriental Surprise', 'Primitivism', and 'Black', I chose the last one because I felt an instant connection with this topic.

I am a big admirer of colour black. I like making reverse drawings on black background, I am a fan of night photography, and I feel like darker colours are more interesting and alluring in general. I believe that I can make a very interesting project with this theme.

About the more specific ideas I will write in the next post, however no matter the idea, I think that the most difficult task for me will be incorporating a 3D artwork into my collection. This term we have to create four 2D art pieces and one 3D. Of course it is quite difficult to imagine how to make 3D photographs or videos without 3D cameras, so I will definitely have to think about this aspect of this project.

I would also like to try not using Photoshop this term. I still feel like being very comfortable with it is vital in succeeding as a photographer, however I want to see if I can be independent from it as well. I will focus more on the the pure quality of the photographs straight from the camera instead of making it work in the post-production.

I feel drawn strongly to the night street photography as a subject of this project. I was also thinking about shooting a film since both of my previous project were photography ones, it would be nice to change it up. Shooting at night is also something I never did before so it definitely would be interesting to try it.
