Major Project TERM III - Idea Generation

After hearing all three options for themes of this term's major project, which are 'Oriental Surprise', 'Primitivism', and 'Black', I chose the last one because I felt an instant connection with this topic.

Below you can view my initial ideas I have written out:

A few weeks ago I shot this photo because I liked the atmosphere in the scene. It is not a great shot, because I only had my phone with me, however it represents well what I imagined when I heard this theme.

While my previous project relied heavily on use of Adobe Photoshop, this time I want to not use it at all. I feel like trying to capture a great shot in camera is more important than making it great in post production.

Therefore I this term I will try to capture the atmosphere of noir Victorian era in street night photography collection of photographs.

I am not sure about the colour palette of this collection. If I want to shot in colour or in black and white. I also have to think about how to present the 3D aspect of my work. I was thinking about some sort of parallax effect created by making three photographs from different positions next to each other.

I still have to think about the subject of the photo, since the streets themselves are not interesting enough to me.

Another idea I come up with was to shoot a film based on a poem or a short story in which action is happening at night. I might also write an original script. It is a more loose idea for now, however after two photography projects I would be interested in changing things up and create a film.

I think that the film would qualify as a 3D piece of work.
