Major Project TERM III - Planning primary research (Location scouting)
During today's class we were looking at ways of carrying out primary research related to our project.
For my project I decided to do a location scouting as a part of my primary research. Finding right locations is very important for this kind of film since majority of the scenes will be shot outside on the streets of Leicester.
Besides the purely visual aspects which will help me decide which locations I want to photograph, lighting will be very important as well. Since all the exterior scenes will be shot at night, I will have to find places with well lit scenery. Lamps, neon lights, shops will be my main sources of light.
Finding places which have both, good lighting and nice scenery, might be a challenge however I already have a few places in mind which I believe would look great.
As for the interior scenes, I already know where I want to shoot. The opening and ending scenes will be shot at my accomodation, and scenes at the shop will be shot in Lidl, since it is open after sunset and it is usually quite empty at that hour.
For exteriors, tonight I will walk around the Leicester city centre and parks in order to find the best locations for my film.
